Car Takes A Quick Dip In Atlantic Ocean

Surfers out for a quick wave ride early on Wednesday morning instead found a red Ford Escort tucked in near the rock jetty on Beach 67 Street. The car was empty of both driver and identification, and the car's license plate had been removed. Officials speculate that either somebody was drunk or else wanted to get rid of an unwanted car. The Ford was found at about 5:40 a.m. on July 22. Firefighters waded out to the car to make sure than nobody was trapped inside. Photo by Chris Kalisak.
