Manita Lamy, 73, a longtime Rockaway resident, died July 12.
Lamy was born on October 5, 1935 in Bainet, Haiti and was a member of Universal Church of Salvation under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Alix Pierre.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie-Ange Judeline Castagne-Petit- Frere; son-in-law, Chiliguims Petit- Frere; grandchildren, Chilin, Cherlin, Regline, William, Etienne, Luc, Rebecca, Joadeline and Adela; brother, Vikes Lamy; her adopted children, Lydia Jean-Francois and her husband Reginal Jean-Francois; Jovany Lamour and his wife, Adeline Lamour; god daughter, Wanna Menard; close friend, Jean Menard; nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. A memorial service was held at Universal Church of Salvation, Far Rockaway. Interment was at Forest Park Cemetery, Morganville, New Jersey.
