Doggie-Donor Wants Rockaway's Help

Michael Feldman and his daughter, Alexis Michael Feldman and his daughter, Alexis Michael Feldman's daughter, Alexis, who is 17, came to him one day with a request. She wanted him to help her with a school assignment to plan a non-profit business.

Since Feldman, a real estate broker in Brooklyn, always wanted to work with animals, he suggested collecting money to assist those who needed veterinarian care for this pets but could not afford it.

After the plan was drawn up, Feldman thought, "Why not implement the plan and help people pay for vet care?"

So was born Pennies for Paws andPenniesforPaws.com.

Feldman and his daughter have donated to many local animal organizations, including ARF-ARF, the North Shore Animal League, the ASPCA, and Friends of Animal Rescue Fund.

His collection cans can be found all over the west end of the peninsula, he says. He also says that, even though there was some contention of the legality of the business when he first came to Rockaway, Feldman has proven that he heads a legitimate non-profit organization and deserves local support.
