PHC Offers Overview Of Programs And Goals
Peninsula Hospital Center, at the invitation of Peter Sammon, president of the Neponsit Property Owners Association, made a presentation at the NPOA's June, 2009 meeting at West End Temple in Neponsit. Robert V. Levine, president and Chief Executive Officer of PHC, provided an overview of the new programs and services available at the Hospital Center, the hospital's mission as it moves forward and an overview of current New York State and federal government proposed plans for health reform. Howard L. Sussman, M.D., Director of Surgery, provided an update about the new surgical staff and enhanced surgical capabilities available at the Hospital Center, as well as the benefits of being treated in one's own community. Martin A. Grossman, M.D., Director of Medicine, offered overviews of the Hospital Center's Hospitalist program, Rapid Response Team, new Inpatient Hospice Unit and the importance of having a local Primary Care physician familiar with your overall personal health history. Also joining the Hospital Center's staff was Mary- Ellen Towey, RN, from the Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation's Rehabilitation and Wound Care Units, who discussed the longterm care programs and the rehabilitative short-term, long-term and outpatient care available at PCECR— close to home.
