Fire Blasts Rockaway Park Pizzeria
A quick-moving fire raged through Rockaway Park pizzeria on Monday night, gutting the one-story building and drawing dozens of firefighters from all over the peninsula. The fire department responded to call about a fire in a pizzeria at about 11:54 p.m. on June 29 and found John and John Pizzeria, at 97-02 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, fully engulfed in flames.

Engines 266, 270, 329 and 264 were joined by Ladder trucks 121 and 134, as well as Rescue 4.
All told, nine apparatus and 60 firefighters fought the fire, which was declared under control at midnight.
Fire officials say that marshals are investigating the fire, but that so far, there are no indications of foul play.
