Organizations such as the Bay Rats Fishing Club, the Police Athletic League (PAL) Redfern Community Center, and Madison Boys and Girls Club held up their banners proudly as they marched their way to Bayswater Park, where the parade ended.

The residents were joined in the parade by local politicians and civic activists. The parade wound its way from Hassock Street to Central Avenue and then south to Seagirt Boulevard and, finally, Bayswater Park.

Hosted by Denean Ferguson, the vice president of the 101 Precinct Community Council, City Councilman James Sanders Jr. and City Council candidate Jacques Leandre, those who participated in the parade did so to support their community, parade organizers said.
