Barricaded Man Draws Police Response

Police officers from several specialized units were drawn to Carlton Manor on Tuesday morning when a violent man barricaded himself in an upper-floor apartment and refused to come out, police say. Just after noon, police were called to 71-15 Beach Channel Drive to safeguard the other tenants of the public housing building and to talk the man out of his apartment. After approximately an hour, the man surrendered to police without an incident. Pictured, officers from the NYPD's Technical Assistance Response Unit.
