Rockaway WISH Holds Fundraiser

Rockaway WISH (Women Inspired to Support and Help), a non profit organization that was started in 2005 by a group of local women, dedicated to helping neighbors in their time of need, held a fundraiser on June 12.

On that day, Rockaway WISH held its annual Century Drawing Fundraiser at Jameson's Pub on Beach 129 Street.

The organization sold tickets for $125, and the tickets granted admission for two people to the fundraiser. One hundred and thirty tickets were sold and 120 people came out to see if they were one of the 14 winners.

A spokesperson for the organization, which provides services that range from dog-walking to home care, said that the fundraiser was a large success and looks forward to next year's affair.
