PHC Physicians Honored By UJA

Galvin, M.D. The UJA-Federation of New York South Shore Healthcare Professionals division recently honored three physicians affiliated with Peninsula Hospital Center at its first dinner reception on June 11, 2009. The honorees were Leonard Schiffman, D.M.D., Director, Department of Dentistry and Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery at Peninsula Hospital Center and Steve Aron Mermelstein, M.D., F.C.C.P. Peter A. Galvin, M.D., Peninsula Hospital Center's Chief Medical Officer, received this year's Community Service Award. The world's largest local philanthropy, UJA - Federation of New York, helps 1.4 million people in New York City, Westchester County and Long Island as well as 3 million people in Israel and 60 other countries around the world. The funds raised by the UJAFederation sustain the activities of more than 100 health, human-service, educational and community agencies.
