Bay Rats Fishing Tournament This Weekend

Fishermen gathered at the Bay Rats Tournament last year. Fishermen gathered at the Bay Rats Tournament last year. For those who would like to enjoy a day of fishing and help out the community, everyone is welcome to attend the Second Annual Bay Rats Father's Day Fishing Tournament.

The back-by-populardemand tournament will take place on the bayside of Beach 38 Street on Sunday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fee is $10, which will include refreshments. Log-in time is at 10 a.m. and you can catch striped bass, bluefish and weak fish up till 4 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded to those who finish in first, second or third place.

The Bay Rats Fishing Club is a non-profit organization whose intent is to use any donations given to clean up the strip on Beach 38 Street and Norton Avenue for fishing use. There will also be a barbeque throughout the day.

Anyone who doesn't fish is still invited to donate his or her time to help out a cause that would allow children and adults to fish.
