Ruth Marion Davis

Public Health Advisor

Ruth Marion Davis, 80, a longtime Rockaway resident, died June 6.

Davis was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 23, 1929 and was a resident of Hammels and Wavecrest for 50 years. She worked for the New York City Department of Health as a public health advisor and was a member of COGIC in Far Rockaway.

Davis is preceded in death by her father, Leroy Mackey and mother, Annie Mackey.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Walter) Davis; sons, Alexander Davis Jr., Bernard Davis; former husband, Alexander Davis Sr.; granddaughters, Taisha (Kareem) Rodgers, Candi, Marie (Corey) Short, Dandrell, Melissa, Tonya, Sandy, Dina and Teesha; grandsons, K'von, Kevin and Moochie; great-granddaughters, Robiesha, Tanaya, Zaria, Nyla and Kyla; special son-in-law, Walter Davis and special nephew, Clifford Saunders/Davis and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral arrangements and memorial service remained private. Interment was at Greenlawn Cemetery, Hampton, Virginia.
