'Raffle Queen' Is Crowned At PHC Aux Meeting

Gertrude Oltchick, member of the Executive Board of the Peninsula Hospital Center Auxiliary, received a "pearl and ruby" crown at the June auxiliary meeting. She earned her new honorary title because she single-handedly sold 168 Auxiliary raffle tickets this year. "I'm not finished yet," she said when accepting the honorary title. Oltchick very earnestly stated, "Peninsula Hospital Center is very near and dear to my heart. It is our community hospital and we must support it and I will continue to work hard on its behalf - it gives me great pleasure." Her efforts combined with the efforts of other auxiliary members resulted in a sizeable donation to the Hospital Center dedicated to the Ambulatory Chemotherapy Unit. Oltchick received the Outstanding Community Philanthropist honor at the Hospital Center's 101st Anniversary Ball in 2008.
