Dorothy Lee Clayton
Dorothy Lee Clayton, 76, a longtime Rockaway resident, died May 19.
Clayton was born in Walterboro, South Carolina on November 15, 1932 and worked as a home attendant. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Glen Cove, a member of Easter Stars and also the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W.
Clayton is preceded in death by her two children, Jimmy Clayton and Harry Williams.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Clayton, Tommy Clayton of Virginia, Donald Clayton, Hilda Williams, Stephany Saunders, Sandra Clayton of New York and Harry Clayton of North Carolina; daughtersin laws, Tina Clayton of Virginia, Evelyn Clayton of North Carolina and Tonya Clayton also of Virginia; son-inlaw, Kenmore Richards of New York; brother, William Clayton; sisters, Delphine Smalls and Janie Daniels of South Carolina; sister-in-laws, Alberta Clayton of North Carolina, Helen Clayton of New York; brother-in-law, Robert Daniels of South Carolina; aunts, Earline Manigo and Ann Robinson both of South Carolina; uncle, Sonny Moore of South Carolina; thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends, one special friend and field service partner by the name of Sister Anderson.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. A memorial service was held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Bronx, New York. Disposition was at St. Michael's Crematory, East Elmhurst, New York.
