Pepper Steppers To Defend Double Dutch Title
     The world champion Stan Pepper Steppers will defend their title at the upcoming 36th Annual American Double Dutch World Invitational Championship in Sumter, South Carolina on June 18. The Pepper Steppers, coached by Stan Brown, were successful last year as the team won overall honors as the best team in the competition along with trophies in the speed and freestyle program. Rockaway Outdoors/Tales From The Wheelhouse
      Well the fishing in the bay had its moments this past week, rebounding with both the size of the stripers landed and the quantity. Bunker schools began to shrink somewhat throughout the bay with the largest concentrations being near Speed Creek and Shell Bank Creek on the north side and Silver Hole and vicinity on the south side.

Rockaway United Club Hosts Red Bulls Soccer Camp
      For those youngsters eager to learn how to play the game of soccer, the Rockaway United Football Club will be the host for the New York Red Bulls Soccer Camp in August at Fort Tilden. The Rockaway United Football Club is a youth soccer organization featuring three girls teams and one boys team from the ages of 9 to 12 which plays in the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League.

St. John's Prevailed In Peninsula Cup Championship
      After a thrilling afternoon and evening of championship soccer, St. John's emerged as the top club in the 2009 Peninsula Cup thanks to a 4-3 overtime win over Marquette in Boys Division 4 (Sixth to Eighth Grade). St. John's also prevailed in Boys Division 3 (Fourth to Fifth Grade).
