Remembering Weiss's

Dear Editor,

Weiss's. And all I can say is great. And ah to the good old days.

I had many a wonderful time there plus the grub. As it was the only place around you could get a swell, soft sandwich and reasonable.

I live practically across from the joint. Since my dad Bill Berry, and his two brothers, Arthur and Charles built my house over 100 years ago. And I'm the only one left of the clan.

Weiss's had the most lovely dining room. All blue and white tile with dancing… figureens engraved in the title. And it was such a sad day to see it all gone and forever.

The Weiss family had a lovely home on West 19 Road. And after awhile, I even went with Dinny, their son. And he always had a gang of us kids at his place. The sky's the limit.

Everything's changed. And I can't complain for I'm still here. I'm 88 years old. And where has all the time gone?
