Bayswater Man Arrested For Burglary

A Bayswater man burglarized a Lawrence business last week by throwing a rock through the front door window, only to be met inside by the owner, according to police.

Adam Berardino, 25, immediately fled the scene, however, after he broke the glass of the front door to Tradition's Restaurant on Central Avenue in Lawrence last Thursday, police said.

He allegedly broke into the business minutes before midnight, but when he entered through the broken door, the 38-year-old man who owns the restaurant confronted him, causing Berardino to run away.

Nassau County police on patrol spotted him along Rockaway Turnpike and arrested him after a brief foot pursuit, according to police.

Berardino, who lives in Bayswater on Beach 25 Street, was charged with third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools. He was arraigned in Hempstead First District Court last Friday.
