First Drowning Of Season


The body of an unidentified woman washed up at Beach 28 Street at about noon on Thursday, May 21. Police say that the body, which was fully-clothed, was that of an Indian woman in her 40s. Sources at the scene told The Wave that there was no immediate indication that there had been a crime committed. The body was turned over to the Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy. Officials at that office say that determining the cause of death may take a week or more. Detectives from the 101 Precinct Squad are investigating. Pictured, detectives study the body.
