Nutrition Outreach and Education Program (NOEP) provides information and assistance for the federal nutrition assistance program called FOOD STAMPS. Last year, NOEP helped 25,000 new households in New York State receive food stamp benefits. NOEP will provide free and confidential prescreening to see if you may be eligible for food stamps, help you fill out the food stamp application, answer any questions you might have about the food stamps, accompany you to the food stamp office if needed, assist with food stamp recertification, and help with the food stamp application process. You may be eligible if you are employed, unemployed, a student or a green card holder. You can't be deported for applying and you can still become a U.S. citizen.
