Local Politicians Celebrate CBB Victory

Local state government officials and community leaders were on hand last Friday at the Broad Channel entrance of the Cross Bay Bridge to celebrate the preservation of the Rockaway and Broad Channel resident rebate program that was saved with the recent bailout of the MTA by state lawmakers. State representatives on hand included Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith, Assemblymembers Audrey Pheffer and Michelle Titus, and State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. Also present were local community and civic leaders, all of whom loudly protested for months against the threat of once again paying to traverse the Cross Bay Bridge.
