The Inner Voice

Commentary by Marilyn Gelfand

Fear of the future or the unknown is such a strong feeling.

Now as we go through all different kinds of events like swine flu or the economy, we can keep worrying about what will happen tomorrow.

We can create all different scenarios in our heads which may never happen, and often things we never even worried about become realities.

Some of us lose sleep when we can't see what will happen in the future. We need to know what will happen now or else we are crazed.

Time does heal wounds and does provide solutions that we wouldn't have thought of earlier.

We have to let life take its course.

Even in making arrangements with others, people have to get back to you, check on their kids, etc.

It is so important to know when to act and when to have patience to just let things occur.

Answers to issues often pop up out of the unknown.

When you relax, a solution may just occur to you. Something that you wouldn't have thought of may just rise into your mind. Times of peace and restoration are important for our spirits as well as our bodies.

Slow and steady activity will prevent backtracking of your decisions.

If you have the patience to let things unfold, evaluate and then act, it is better than being more dramatic and impulsive. You will feel that all your actions are correct regardless of what anyone else says or does.

As we put in more control over ourselves, it does give peace of mind when we don't have to undo a thoughtless remark or get caught in the insecurities of another without thinking about it.

Wholeness comes when we maintain our own space and go at our own pace in time with the divine order of things.
