The St. Rose Basketball Program Continues To Shine Bright
There are seven basketball teams and 50 cheerleaders at St. Rose. The program also hosts a basketball clinch for first and second graders and it grows every year.
Back in the 1970's, St. Rose had a basketball program that produced many championship and playoff contenders. Under the then leadership of Dennis Cook, the teams were always competitive, and many students went on to play in high school and/or college.
After twenty years without a sports program, St. Rose is building back a basketball program that our teams of years ago can be proud of.
Special thanks go to Monsignor James Spengler, St. Rose's pastor and Principal Anderson for continuing to show support to the program. We must also thank Father Peter Gillen for restarting the program four years ago.
The St. Rose program would like to thank the coaches, basketball players and cheerleaders that gave up all their free time on dame day and throughout the week to make it a success. The program also salutes everyone who contributed for showing school spirit.
This year, the St. Rose basketball program is attempting to raise funds for a new basketball floor in September. It is a major undertaking and the program would like help from everyone involved, along with the community, to make it happen.
St. Rose of Lima continues to get bigger and brighter while every year showing great school spirit.
