Johnson Wins Twirling, Singing Championship

12-year old Allison Johnson of Belle Harbor (pictured left with Michelle Deery), twirled her way past the competition at this weekend's New York Twirling Organization 2009 Championship held at Bayside High School. In order for her to capture the grand championship, Johnson had to swirl a solo routine against all age groups. This competition comes on the heels of the recent Star Power Competition (held on April 17-19 in West Islip), in which Johnson took first place in the twirling and singing divisions. The prize awarded was to Johnson was a Power Pack Scholarship. With the help of Levittown P.A.L. coaches Michelle Deery, Arlene Martin and Igor Osofsky of the Brooklyn Gymnastic Center, Johnson says she is looking forward to competing at the Eastern Seaboard Championships this coming weekend. 12-year old Allison Johnson of Belle Harbor (pictured left with Michelle Deery), twirled her way past the competition at this weekend's New York Twirling Organization 2009 Championship held at Bayside High School.
