Some of SJEH's volunteers gathered at the annual Volunteers Luncheon to recognize their contributions to patients and their community during National Volunteer Week. St. John's Episcopal Hospital honored its many volunteers during National Volunteer Week. On Friday, April 24, 2009, the Hospital held a luncheon to recognize the service of its volunteers and the many capacities in which they assist the Hospital and patients. Volunteers support the Hospital's efforts in numerous departments including Medical Records, Dietary, Admitting, and Hemodialysis.
During his remarks, John Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of St. John's, warmly thanked the volunteers for their "more than 22,000 hours of service in 2008."

|John Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, gave volunteer Ruth Hamburger a bouquet of flowers for being the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program 2008 Presidential Lifetime Service Award at the annual Volunteer Luncheon at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. Ms. Hamburger provides office support for the Hospital's Admitting Department. Also honored but missing was volunteer Irwin Goldberg who received the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Presidential Call to Service Award in 2008. Volunteer Susan Kimmel accepted a bouquet of flowers from John Gupta, St. John's Chief Executive Officer at the Volunteer luncheon held at on Friday, April 24, 2009, at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. Kimmel received the 2009 United Hospital Fund Hospital Auxilian and Volunteer Achievement Award. She initiated and works in the Hospital's Hospitality Program, in which volunteers greet visitors at St. John's front entrance. |
