The oil on canvas painting is one of the works on view in sTudio 6 Gallery, RoCA @ Fort Tilden. RAA member Christian Le Gars, one of the curators of a national print show scheduled for RoCA later this year, is one of two featured artists this week on the Manhattan Artist's International, an online magazine. The website is manhattanarts.com.

If you go to the website you will see the work of the other featured artist, Mary Felton, and be able to view the magazine's online gallery.

An accomplished printmaker and watercolorist who has won many awards, Le Gars' work is part of a select group appearing in the portfolio of the world renowned Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. The portfolio is in the collection of the Library of Congress.

Le Gars' "L'Artist," an etching with watercolor, has been selected for the fifth "Small Works Exhibition" of the Mamaroneck Artists Guild, on view May 6-23 in Larchmont, New York. The reception is May 9, 4-6 p.m.

Juror for the show is Leslie Nolan, executive director of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. For more information about the show visit mamaroneckartistsguild.org.

"Color Mix of Quilts and Artwork" and "Wine and Dine" are on view in the RAA galleries at RoCA through May 17. Admission is free. (See gray box for exhibit details.) In "Wine and Dine" Yuri Yurov's mastery of the "tools of his trade" is evident in "Still Life."

His expert use of composition, brushwork and techniques that include glazing create a sumptuous table that puts one in mind of the painters of the Renaissance. In "Evening," part of the same show, Igor Gushchin presents his unique vision with a still life set against a stylized landscape.

Thomas Furano, in his mixed media works in "Color Mix," takes the freedom and energy of explosive, seemingly spontaneous strokes of color, sometimes specific symbols, and turns them into metaphoric narrative.
