A Blast From The Past Which Should Be Repeated Next Season
From The Rockaway Museum Commentary by Emil Lucev, Curator Dedicated To The Memory Of Leon S. Locke
In 1981 Beach 116 Street was the site of the Rockaway Park Street Festival. The event, a successful one, was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the Rockaway Rotary Club. The fair was held in conjunction with the annual Rockaway Run on April 26, 1981. Look closely at these two photos, and tell us why this event could not be repeated next or any other year?
