Louis Vuitton always delivers extraordinary designs every season. Welcome back to The Style Insider. In this week's issue, I am discussing all of the new bags that are in style for Spring.

Bags are one of the most important accessories a woman can have in her closet, or in this case, on her arm. Bags can define a person's outfit as comfortable, classy, elegant, eccentric, conventional, daring, and the list goes on. When you make your bag the focal point of your ensemble, it becomes a symbol of your individuality and your style. Not only does it carry all of your essentials, it can define who you are as a person.

Just by looking at someone's bag, you can immediately peek into the type of person that person is, whether that is high maintenance, low maintenance, stylish, creative, a leader, a follower, etc. Especially in these budgetcrunching times, a bag is an easy accessory to dress up a basic outfit or tone down a formal outfit.

There are seven bag trends to keep an eye out for this season. The first trend is called Slouchy Shopper. This is a weekender or errand bag in metallic and leather print designs. The colors from which to choose in order to achieve the perfect spring look are bold turquoise, silver and cherry red.

The second trend is called Sequin Clutches. Because the name speaks for itself, there is not much to say about this trend. However, these bags include medium-sized clutches and pouches decked out in sequins, rhinestones and jewels. This bag is perfect for a night out or to jazz up your little black dress at a formal event. The best colors for this type of bag are silver, turquoise, royal purple, black, and white.

The third trend is called Patchwork Leather. This trend is for the creative and artistic woman. This design is found on boxy shoppers, oversized totes, and miniature hobos. The best colors to choose for the patchwork leather and fabric are orange and blue, brown and red, and black and beige.

The fourth trend is called Pastel Shoulder Bag. This is a simple schoolgirl shoulder bag trend that is available in light pastel hues. These colors include baby blue, light rose, lime green and sunny yellow. This bag will add a fresh and charming feel to any outfit.

The fifth trend is called Folk Embroidery and Prints. Cross-body bags and clutches covered in embroidery and folk art designs provide a bohemian vibe. Another great feature about this trend is that it will last through summer.

So, when you decide to splurge on your folk embroidery bag, be reassured you will be able to carry it through the summer months.

The sixth trend is called Black and White Prints. Rectangle or square totes or slouchy hobos covered in large flowers in a simple but bold black and white combo, will add a runway inspired look to any ensemble.

The last trend is called Chain Handles. This is a very classic trend that has been around for a long time. However, spring has decided to make this old-school trend a must-have for another season. And I, personally, am not surprised. Chain straps will add class to practically any bag it hangs on. Pick up your favorite tote, hobo, or shoulder bag with a chain strap. However, remember to always match the color of the chain strap to the hardware on your shoes.

That's all for this week, but make sure to look out for my next column in which I will discuss the best looks for a guest to a Spring wedding.
