The Style Insider
Shoes have always been a huge obsession for me; however, bags have always had them beat. Not all women feel that way, though. Most women cherish shoes over anything else in their closet. And why is that? Simple. Shoes always fit the way you want them to. No need for measuring or feeling uncomfortable, asking a sales associate for a different size from the fitting room. There is also such a wide variety to choose from for whatever mood you're in. Shoes are an expression of a woman's individuality and can make you feel like a million bucks even if you purchased them at a discount store.
This spring, shoes are all about detail. Embellishments and straps are just a couple of examples that designers are adding on to their creations. Especially around the ankle part of the shoe, embellishments such as rhinestones and colorful sequins are popping up in most of the designers' lines. Boldness and confidence are qualities the designers want their customers to feel whenever they put on a pair of their beautiful shoes. These impressive shoes can be found in stores almost anywhere. However, my favorite comes from Lanvin.
They are absolutely gorgeous, even just to look at.
Gladiator sandals were in style last summer and are back in fashion for spring. When it comes to this particular style, the more straps the better. They also come in flat and high heels. Gladiator sandals can be found almost anywhere. My favorite can be found at www.gladiator-sandals. 2heels.com/. They have an extensive collection of gladiator sandals in all styles, colors, and price points. Whatever your taste is in gladiators, they have a pair for you.
Color, color, color! This spring is all about bright colors in vibrant shades. Don't be afraid to wear a pair of bright red stilettos with your little black dress. Wearing colorful shoes with bland colored apparel can be something that most women shy away from. If you are one of those women, then opt for colorful clothing when buying colorful shoes. Make sure the colors match and remember not to go overboard.
Last, but definitely not least, what is the one thing you must have done before wearing open-toe sandals? A pedicure! Ladies, no one wants to see a beautiful pair of shoes on an undone foot. Some have neglected this must-do during the winter months, but now that the weather is getting warmer and flip-flops are coming out, get to your nearest salon and get your feet right for the summer months.
That's all for this week, but make sure to look out for my next column in which I will discuss the newest bags for spring.
