Dorothy Latimore Reid
Dorothy Latimore Reid, a Rockaway resident, died March 27.
Latimore Reid was born in Hancock, Georgia on October 24, 1930. She was a resident of Hammel Houses for more than 40 years and worked for the New York City Housing Authority as a chef. Latimore Reid was also a parishioner of Macedonia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy (Buddy) Latimore and Elenora Ruff-Latimore, as well as husband Marvin Reid.
She is survived by her three daughters, Shirley, Seretha and Felicia; four grandsons, Raymond, Bobby (Wise), Jordan and Gerald; two granddaughters, Deanna and Irainah; four greatgrandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Ashton and Anisa; two sisters, Beatrice (Bea) and Ruth; two brothers, John (Chuck) and Robert; sons-in-law, Frank, Gary and David; sisters-in-law, Liller Vee, Omar Mary and Nellie; longtime companion and friend John Haynes and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Arverne at 10:00 a.m. Interment remained private.
