White House Cover-Up
The cover up by our elected officials at the White House continues to roll on like Elliot Spitzer's steam roller. Who knew it? When did they know it? And all the bull crap that goes along with the side show. They, our elected officials, really believe that they can tell us anything they want us to hear and we will go along with them. Some of us fall for it, but I guarantee you, when it is time to go over the cliff after them they will change plans and make sure that you go first and you will never know whether they followed you or not. I think we can figure the answer to that one.
An article in the Daily News on October 23 2008 by staff writer Helen Kennedy tells a shocking tale about AIG. New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo stopped a $19 million dollar check that was going to be paid out to a former CEO of AIG, Martin Sullivan, and that was only a portion of the $47 million severance pay Sullivan was demanding. If Sullivan was the best and the brightest I wonder how much it would cost the taxpayers if he had chosen to hang in there and not leave?
It gets better. $600 million was set aside for other employees. All this in bonuses out of the first $85 billion dollar bailout money to AIG. Now, for those jokers in the white house to be telling us that they were unaware of any bonuses being paid out until March of 2009 they are simply not telling us the truth. Oh yeah, one more thing. The first thing that AIG did after receiving the first bailout was going on a hunting trip to California. There they spent $500 thousand dollars at a swanky spa. What recession? This is not the end. $250 billion is slated to go to AIG over the next few years with even more bonuses to be paid out, and you thought it was over.
