Weiner Pushes For Timely Mammogram Testing


Representative Anthony Weiner, a member of the House Commerce Subcommittee on Health, and Representative Carolyn Maloney unveiled a new study Sunday showing New York City women waiting up to four months for a mammogram screening. Citywide, the average for a mammogram is one month. Bronx facilities posted the longest average wait time, with 5.4 weeks. Jo Holz, a representative from SHARE, a non-profit group which provides support for women with breast cancer, discussed the need for quick access to this lifesaving resource.
