A Plan By Our Republican Mayor?

Dear Editor,

After Michael Bloomberg officiated at cheater "Councilman" Eric Ulrich's inauguration and subsequently Jane Deacy, the usual automaton Republican fool endorsed Bloomberg for reelection, I began to wonder. Is perhaps the mayor in cahoots with the Republicans, with Ulrich as a pawn in the game?

Bloomberg supports some of their candidates and they put him on their ballot? I wouldn't put it past the wily mayor, the moldering Republican Party, or the Christian zealot "Councilman". However, who could have contemplated such an unholy alliance?

What bothers me more than this are the views Mr. Ulrich takes. He is anti-choice, anti-gay marriage, and pro school vouchers. I don't know how his disgusting position on homosexuality will sit with Council speaker Christie Quinn, a lesbian, who rightly supports her community in its quest to get crazies like Ulrich out of their love lives. I don't know how his position on abortion will sit with an overwhelmingly pro-choice council. Like his fellow zealots, (they're really jerks), he seeks to impose his (and my) religion and supplant his beliefs for that of others.

On education he stupidly supports school vouchers, which sucks money out of public education to pay private institutions to teach children, on the argument that public schools are bad. The obvious hole in that argument; that those monies spent on a voucher

Letters program could be diverted to improve public schools is lost on him.

Under his stewardship our district will become the laughingstock of the city, as Mr. Intolerant Puritan is released onto the streets of a self-imagined Gomorrah.

Cultural Discrimination Dear Editor,

While listening to Eyewitness News last week, Ken Rosato reported that the NYPD was increasing vehicle stops for alcohol checks in anticipation of the St. Patrick's Day holiday.

Is the same thing done for the Hispanic and West Indian holidays? I doubt it.
