Can Ulrich Deliver?

Dear Editor,

I congratulate Eric Ulrich on his election. Now comes the hard part. Will he be able to deliver for our community?

Will he stop the MTA from imposing a toll on the Cross Bay Bridge for residents?

Will he convince the Parks Department to train and hire enough lifeguards to protect all our beaches and swimmers?

Will he require the Parks Department to repair all dangerous broken boards on our boardwalk and install ramps for beach access for the disabled?

Will he get the MTA to reopen the Rockaway Beach line of the LIRR?

Will he get the Department of Education to begin construction of enough schools to provide a seat for every student in District 27?

Will he ensure that all Senior Centers remain open and daily delivery of hot meals to the disabled continues?

Will he convince the mayor to release appropriated federal funds to rebuild the Broad Channel fire house?

Will he convince the mayor and City Council to provide enough public or private funds so that a full size swimming pool for training and competition can be included in the new Y?

Eric is an attractive young man who speaks eloquently. He appears to have the ear of the mayor. As a public official he should be judged on

Letters his performance. The voters of the 32nd Council District will have an opportunity to judge him on Election Day, November 3, 2009.
