The "Seniors in Shape" 5th Fitness For Life Expo, sponsored by Emblem Health at Aviator Sports & Recreation in Floyd Bennett Field, brought more than 800 attendees from all over Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens. Many senior centers brought their members for a fun-filled day of exercise and dance classes, entertainment, raffles, giveaways and much more. In addition, the attendees were able to meet with more than 30 companies who exhibited their products and services, including centers for Medicare and Medicaid services who answered their health insurance questions. SUNY Downstate Medical Center provided free blood pressure, diabetes, smoking cessation and sleep disorder screenings throughout the day. The next senior event will be held on May 14, 2009, the Spring Health Fair.
