20 Years Ago... Five men aged 16 to 22 were arrested on Wednesday, March 29, following a robbery and assault at Beach 105 Street and Rockaway Freeway, in the Seaside section of Rockaway Beach.

Two residents of the Edgemere Houses in Arverne were picked out of a gang and arrested last Saturday night, March 25, after a 21-year-old resident of Ozone Park was robbed and assaulted on an A train northbound between the Gaston Avenue-Beach 67 Street station in Arverne and the station in Broad Channel.

Two boys (15 and 16) from a home in Rockaway Park were arrested on Sunday, March 11 after they allegedly tried to rob another boy from the home in Stella Maris High School, Rockaway Park. According to police the robbery was attempted in the hall of the school.

Can anyone blame owners of legitimate apartment buildings which come under rent control for complaining when other owners are getting three times as much rent.

The L.I.R.R. will lend umbrellas to commuters for protection from the rain. People using the Rockaway subway line wish they had that service.

Many residents have crossed party lines to congratulate former State Senators Frederic E. Hammer and Milton E. Koerner on their recent appointments by Governor Rockefeller to the State Labor Board and the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board respectively.

Pat Kelly, president of the American- Irish Society, says the group has arranged through Herbst Brothers Motomarine for the purchase of an Old Towne motor boat which the society will offer as a prize.
