RBVL Announces Captain's Meeting For 2009 Season
The Rockaway Beach Volleyball League are preparing for this summer's 2009 Rockaway Beach Volleyball League season.
Team captains are required to attend the first meeting of the year at Kerry Hills Pub on Wednesday, March 25 at 8:00 p.m. Captains must bring a full roster (unsigned is OK) and a deposit of $100 per team to insure a spot in the league.
If a captain is unable to attend he must send a representative in his place with both the money and the roster.
Roster and uniform order forms are available on our website - rbvl.com. If you are interested in fielding a new team, you should also come to the meeting and bring a roster and a $100 deposit (fully refundable), which will get you on the waiting list in case teams drop out and openings become available.
Prospective new referees are welcome to come by if you would like to be worked into our rotation. You do not need to be a certified ref to work in the RBVL. In fact, many refs have been quite successful with a strong playing background (college and high school) and limited referee experience.
Captains can do us a big favor by emailing your vital information (name, address, phone numbers, e-mail address, team name) and the information for an alternate (or two) from your team.
If the information is the same as last year, don't do a thing. However, if you have a new e-mail address or you've elected a new captain, send the info to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible; you don't have to wait for the meeting.
Wednesday, May 20 will be the first night of volleyball at the beach. It will be a practice night for all and uniforms and schedules will be given out at that time.
