Joseph M. Lynch
Joseph Lynch, a 36-year Rockaway resident, died March 14.
Lynch was born in Brooklyn. He served in the US Navy during World War II.
He was a US Custom Agent, Fingerprint Specialist with the FBI, a retired Deputy Inspector with the New York Police Department and past commander of VFW John McLaughlin Post 8540.
He was a member of the Rockaway Point Catholic Club, Holy Name Society at St. Thomas More/Blessed Trinity, NYPD Holy Name and Anchor Club.
Lynch was preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn Belligiere.
He is survived by his wife, Edna M. Fitzgerald Lynch; son, Joseph M. Lynch Jr.; sister, Alice Waldron; granddaughter, Dorothea Willis (Ricky); grandsons, Laurence (Megan) and James (Erica) Belligiere; and greatgrandchildren, Joseph and Thomas Willis, Christopher and Rachel Belligiere.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.
