Firefighters Rescue Trapped Kitty

Drawn by the screams of an animal in pain, firefighters from the Beach 116 Street firehouse rescued a cat from a barbed wire fence on Tuesday.

The injured cat was brought to the Animal Hospital of the Rockaways at Beach Channel Drive and Beach 114 Street.

There, the cat was rushed immediately into surgery, where Dr Alan Simon and his staff were able to remove the barbed wire and repair the numerous punctures and lacerations suffered by the animal.

The cat is now doing much better. Simon says, adding that the cat is a beautiful orange adult male that is expected to make a full recovery.

Simon urges anybody who lost the animal to contact the animal hospital.
