To recognize National Nutrition Month, Rachel Wetzel, MSRD, CD-N, Clinical Nutrition Manager at Peninsula Hospital Center, along with her staff, is leading a lunch hour National Nutrition Month series for employees and volunteers at the Hospital Center. The purpose of the series is to reinforce healthy eating habits and encourage healthier lifestyles. Although not specifically designed to be a "weight loss" experience, more than 90 percent of those who have been following the dietary suggestions have lost pounds this month.

"One can make very small changes and see a very big difference," says Wetzel, who is very pleased with the enthusiastic participation. "People are very interested in improving their health by changing their eating habits and as a result, many have lost weight. Awareness of what you are eating is essential and we're trying to incorporate this into our 'get healthy' series."
