The Inner Voice
If we want to simplify life as a spiritual person, we usually try not to be impulsive or reactionary, and instead try to be at peace enough so we can follow our instincts. To be balanced, we have to be sure that we are not influenced by external forces that may have strong voices, but rather, go within and still our own energy through breathing, and stopping our thoughts. Then when our hearts open, we can connect with energy that may help us decide what we must do or provide insights into our lives. If we can create boundaries around ourselves, we won't get lost in the energy of others or allow others to control us.
Another important thing to remember is that there is a timing to things. We may be big procrastinators or need to have an answer right now. Those behaviors may be coming out of our own insecurities in dealing with the unknown. We can let go and wait if necessary until we are sure that the answer or decision is the right one. Things may have to fall in place first elsewhere for us to be able to make a wise decision.
Let's say I want to know if I should sell a stock I own. Things may be happening within the company that can influence that decision. On a conscious level I don't know the internal changes. But, my instincts may be picking up information when the inter-company decisions have been completed. "Timing is everything" is a really true statement.
Trusting our instincts isn't always easy. The more we do through trial and error, the more we realize that a lot of good information is revealed through our inner senses.
