Brooklyn Aces One Win Away From Clinching EPHL Title

The Brooklyn Aces are one step closer towards winning the first ever Eastern Professional Hockey League regular season title.

A 9-1 victory over the last place Hudson Valley Bears last Sunday night moved Brooklyn (31-8, 66 points) ten points ahead of second place Jersey (27-15, 56 points). The Aces have seven games left in the regular season.

A Brooklyn victory at 7:30 p.m. tonight against the Rockhoppers at the Aviator Arena can clinch a regular season title.

If the Aces do not win, there are two more chances during the homestand to clinch. Hudson Valley (3-37, 7 points) will visit on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The Aces will host the Bears again on St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The trading deadline and the playoff roster deadline will both be set for Monday at 3 p.m.

Tozzo Honored

C.J. Tozzo of the Brooklyn Aces was named the Eastern Professional Hockey League Player of the Week, for scoring 1 goal and 5 assists against Hudson Valley on March 8.

Tozzo is currently the EPHL's leading scorer with 29 goals and 56 assists for a total of 85 points. His Aces teammate Kyle McCullough is one point behind with 84.

Aces Family Hockey Camp

The Aces will hold a family hockey camp to be held on Saturday, March at 5:30 p.m.

The camp will be held at the Aviator Arena at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn prior to the game against Hudson Valley. The Aces says they are encouraging families to sign up.

The hour long camp will feature training on and off the ice. Participants do not need to have hockey gear. There is no age requirement, no skates are required and no experience required. Meeting the Aces, spending time in the locker room, working with head coach Chris Firriolo and on the ice awards ceremony prior to the game will be some of the highlights of the camp.

The camp will cost $20 and it includes a general admission ticket to Saturday's game against the Bears.

During the game, a silent auction will be held where fans can bid on the chance to have dinner with their favorite Aces player.

The EPHL championship, a best of three series, will start on Thursday, March 26 and continue on March 27 and if necessary, March 28.

The first playoff game will feature the Aces, who are certain to clinch the first place spot, who will host all three games at the Aviator Sports Complex located at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn.

The second place team will be either the Jersey Rockhoppers, currently with 56 points, or the Danbury Mad Hatters (49 points).

Tickets prices according to the Aces have been decreased to accommodate all of their fans for showing up tot eh games this season. Skybox tickets are $35; adult tickets are $15 and kids tickets for ten and under are $9.
