SJEH Observes Black History Month

St. John's Episcopal Hospital celebrated Black History Month on Thursday, February 26, 2009, with a performance by St. John's choir in the hospital lobby. The choir, composed of hospital staff members, was led by Nigel Gretton, Director of Music at St. John's University. They performed "Wade in the Water," a Negro spiritual; "The Battle Hymn of the Republic"; "The High Place" by Steven Roberts; "Come Sunday" written by Duke Ellington; and "Grateful," a contemporary gospel song by Hezekiah Walker.
