Local Busted In Inwood Stabbing

Nassau County Police have arrested a Far Rockaway man who they say stabbed a 28-year-old Inwood man outside a deli on Sheridan Boulevard in Inwood on Saturday, February 28.

The suspect, who was identified by a Nassau County Police Department spokesperson as Jose Morales, 37, of 1261 Central Avenue, about two blocks from the Nassau County location, was charged with first-degree assault, police said. Police officials declined to name the victim in the Saturday afternoon attack, but said he is from Inwood, a Nassau County town that borders on Far Rockaway.

Police say that the stabbing followed a verbal confrontation between the men. The victim's wounds are not considered lifethreatening.

Morales was arrested Saturday afternoon. He was due in District Court on Sunday. Details of his appearance were not available at press time.
