Brooklyn Aces Rough Up Bears To Remain In First Place
The Brooklyn Aces didn't get much time on the ice this past week. With only one game in a light week of action, the Aces defeated rival Hudson Valley, 6-2, last Saturday night.
At the Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh, the Aces got two goals from Kyle McCullough in the first period to go up 3-1. McCullough leads the team and the league in scoring with 80 points. Teammate CJ Tozzo is only one point behind. Goalie Miro Recicar had an easy time in net against the last place Bears by stopping 24 out of 26 shots.
The victory put the Aces one step closer to claiming the first Eastern Professional Hockey League regular season title. With 63 points, Brooklyn leads the second place Jersey Rockhoppers by 11 in the standings. This is the last month of the regular season for the Aces, which starts tonight at 7:30 p.m. on the road at Danbury.
Brooklyn will travel on the road to take on Jersey on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. The Aces return to the Aviator Arena Sunday night at 6:30 to face Hudson Valley. Playoff tickets are now available and for more information, call the Aces at 718-758-7585 or 718-977-5930.
