Howard Stroman Jr.
Howard Prince Louis Stroman Jr., a former Rockaway resident, died February 23. He was 52.
Stroman, affectionately known as "Goya" was born in Orleans, France on August 30, 1956. He was a resident of Rockaway Beach from 1956 to 1979. He graduated from Far Rockaway High School in 1974 and went on to own his own company, "Stroman Trucking Company." He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church and New York Christ the King in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Sr.; mother, Germaine Desrue Stroman; and mother-in-law, Herminia Castellon.
Stroman is survived by his wife, Candida Virginia Stroman; daughter, Sara Elisa Stroman; sons, Howard Dominque Stroman and Travis Richard Allen Stroman; grandson, Sontay Miguel Stroman; sisters, Bernadette Nunez, Nancy Stroman and Suzanne Scott; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 23, 2009 at St. Rose of Lima Church. Disposition was at Rockville Cemetery in Lynbrook.
