Morris of the Rockaway Rotary Club has been chosen to lead a Rotary International group study exchange team headed for Germany this spring.

The team includes Morris and four young professionals sponsored by clubs throughout the district selected to participate in this international vocational exchange.

Rotary is well known worldwide as an association of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service, promote high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

Rotary claims over 1.2 million members worldwide in more than 32,000 clubs in nearly 170 countries.

As described in Rotary International literature, the Rotary Group Study Exchange program is a "cultural and vocational exchange for young busi- ness and professional men and women in the initial years of their professional life. The program provides travel grants for teams of participants to exchange visits between paired areas in different countries.

For four to six weeks team members study the host countries' institutions and ways of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships and exchange ideas."

Morris' Group Study Exchange is between Rotary District 7250 which encompasses Brooklyn, Queens, and Nassau counties and Rotary District 1850 in Northern Germany.

The District 1850 team will be hosted by local clubs in District 7250 in April and May 2009 and will be visiting with the Rockaway Rotary Club at its meeting on May 6.

The other members, professions, and sponsoring clubs of Morris' team include: Tyshawn Henry, textile designer and rugby player, Flushing Rotary Club; Lisa A. Hunte, accountant for Cablevision, Locust Valley Rotary Club; Noelle R. Nordstrom, opera singer, Rockaway Rotary Club; Jennifer A. Killeen, Vice President of Human Resources for Merrill Lynch, Manhasset Rotary; Alternate — Scott M. Rosenbaum, Director of Operations for International Wine Center, Farmingdale Rotary Lunch Club.
