US Representative Gregory Meeks presents postal worker Melvin Cauley Jr. with the floor statement the congressman read into the Congressional records about the letter carrier's heroic action in alerting the 100 Precinct when he noticed the accumulation of mail of a 72-year-old Rockaway resident and retired schoolteacher. The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, fell at home injuring her knees and wrists. She was suffering from dehydration and fatigue when police officers found her.
