No Standing Anytime

Dear Editor,

The two "No Standing Anytime" signs recently placed at the corner of Beach 128 Street and Newport Avenue were put there for the safety of drivers either pulling out of Beach 128 Street or those traveling east on Newport Avenue. Anyone familiar with this corner knows that it is one of the most dangerous in Belle Harbor with accidents occurring on a monthly basis. We were relieved to see this preventive action taken with the two signs. Now, however, the owner of a light blue Honda mini-van has decided that it is OK for him or her to park there almost on a daily basis. I have not seen this car given one ticket, nor do I see anything on or in the car that gives it license to park there. Once again, this is an example of one selfish individual putting his needs over the safety of other drivers. I do hope this person sees this letter, as well as the 100 Precinct. And I hope that this situation is rectified promptly.
