NYS Stops Automatic Mailing Of Income Tax Forms

Assemblywoman Audrey I. Pheffer wants New York residents to be aware that the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance will no longer be mailing tax forms and instructions automatically.

Residents who have received forms and instructions by mail in past years will instead be receiving postcards that will direct taxpayers to either visit the Department's website at www.nystax.gov, their local library or call the Department for their form needs.

"Since less than 5 percent of New York taxpayers still use paper returns mailed by the Department, this decision is an excellent cost saving measure that will still allow New Yorkers to receive the forms they need, while eliminating the need for this excessive, and underutilized mailing," said Pheffer.
