Kids Korner: Looking At Sports

By Ryan Schwach Fourth Grade, PS 114

Ryan Schwach's Interview with Brooklyn Ace Jesse Felten Ryan Schwach's Interview with Brooklyn Ace Jesse Felten Aces forward Jesse Felten has this season going A-OK for him so far. He is second on the team with 19 goals

Mike Christensen has 23), and 22 assists. He is fifth on the team in assists behind Kyle McCullough (42), C.J. Tozzo (33), B.J. Kuper (24) and Doug Hoffman (23). He is third on the team in points behind McCullough

58) and Tozzo (52).

Although he is only five feet eight inches tall, he has the guts of a larger player, and is not afraid to push and shove when he needs to. He is quick on his skates, and that leads to getting many breakaways.

I interviewed Jesse Felten and asked him who on the Aces does he most like to play with, he said, "Eric Frank and B.J. Kuper."

I also wanted to know who he admired as a kid. Oddly, he said Michael Jordan, a basketball player. When I asked him who would he like to play for if he made it to the NHL, he said the Chicago Blackhawks. If he could play with anyone in the NHL, he would choose Jerome Iginla (Calgary Flames).

Felten joined the Aces after getting a phone call from Aces Coach Chris Firriolo, who he had played for in a different league two years ago. He tried out and made the team.

Felten is twenty-two years old and comes from a big family in Wisconsin, where he learned to skate when his family flooded their tennis court.

Next week: Aces Defenseman Doug Hoffman!
