Robert James Clark

Bus Operator

Robert Clark, a longtime Rockaway resident, died January 17.

Clark was born in Brooklyn on December 27, 1937. He was a truck driver, a restaurant owner and 20-year bus operator at the MTA's Flatbush depot, where he retired in 1991. He also owned the Bestest Limo Service in Brooklyn. He was a member of the Masonic Order and the Mt. Hebron Lodge No. 7.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Sojourner, Zaduithu and Lorraine; and brother, Delano.

Clark is survived by his wife of 33 years, Angel Elizabeth Armbrister; children, James Jr., Lisa, Darryl, Anthony, Lias S., Lia Stacie, Keyira, Glen and Christopher; grandchildren, Tamika and Malik; cousin and best friend, RC McClain (Capitola); brother, Lawrence; sister, Asanta Waa; and many family members and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home. Visitation was at Woodward Funeral Home in Brooklyn. Service was held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Rosedale. Interment was at Rosehill Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.
